We are so sorry to hear about Mark. It was great to hike with him on a Sierra club hike last spring. (The last time I saw him was when we were working together at Habetler Bowl.)

He truly loved nature, hiking and biking. This world will miss him, but, we are sure he is hiking or biking in heaven.

Mark, you were doing something you loved when you left us -- we will miss you -- hope there is bicycling and hiking and love where you are now.

A stream can have no ending, For the ocean never ends
A path winds on, though we can't always see around its bends.
Our view must stop where earth meets sky, but both stretch on and on
We cannot see our loved ones, Still, we know they are not gone -
For God has promised us a home, Through all eternity
Where life and love continue Far beyond what we can see.

Mark was my direct report as an employee for a short time since April at Standfast USA. I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing, hiring and training him. I'm so glad I got to take him to a few Cub's games this year. From myself and the entire team at Standfast USA, we will dearly miss Mark and want to offer our sincerest condolences to his remaining family members.

Totally shocking and so sad.
Mark's excitemnt and love for
nature were so contagious.
It was such a joy to
assist him with leading
or just be a part of his group in Sierra Club outing.
Great guy! I'll miss him a lot.
My deep condolences to Mark's family.

My heart goes out to Mark's family.

Mark led so many enjoyable bike rides for Sierra Club over the years. What an asset to the organization.

The Apple Cider Century in Three Oaks happens next Sunday and I feel sure that we would see Mark there. Sharing the spaghetti dinner with Mark after cycling one hundred miles was fun.

I will be thinking of Mark on New Year's Eve at the Zen Buddhist Temple in Chicago. We would see him there and chat and catch up ... sigh.

So very sad ... he had a big heart.

I didn't know Mark but met him often during volunteer opportunities at Volo Bog. We'd chat during pizza before Ghost Stories or at other gatherings. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed by many.

A champion for outdoor leadership.. Mark lead and was co-leader on numerous bike outings with the River Prairie Sierra Club Group. I was fortunate enough to co-lead with him on several of these bike rides. We thrilled to the fun South Kettle Moraine roller coaster hills... Tamarack Road comes to mind. What fun memories we have of these trips. Mark will certainly be missed.
