John James Sowinski

John James Sowinski. Age 87 of Chicago, passed away August 15, 2017. John worked at Allstate Insurance for most of his professional career living in Chicago and then Menlo Park, California. In his retirement, he gave generously through his service to various Catholic charities in the area. He also was a strong supporter of the arts in the city he loved. John was the beloved uncle of Chuck Sowinski, Marie (Mark) Fahrenbach, Lori (Bob) Miazga, Steven (Vicki) Sowinski, and Hank (Beth) Possley. Great-uncle to Jim, Matt and Nick Miazga; Dan and Liv Possley; Stephanie and Argo Sowinski. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Chicago, www.catholiccharities.net.
