Karen Marie (nee Wiater) Sheehan

Karen Marie Sheehan, nee Wiater.  Age 74, of Hollywood, Florida, formerly of Park Ridge. Passed away August 20, 2016. She was born October 24, 1941 to Edward & Mary Wiater.  She married Dr. John “Jack” Sheehan, Jr. February 4, 1961. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John “Jack," Jr. MD; sons John, III (Crystal), Patrick (Heather); daughters Kathy (Ken) Sheahan, Maureen Sheehan, MD, and Shannon Sheehan-Eakle.  Also surviving are her 15 grandchildren, Kelly (Robert) Foerder, John (Jessica) Sheehan, IV, Kevin (Heather) Sheahan, Kaleigh Sheahan, Sarah Sheehan, Ryan Sheehan, Nichole Sheehan, Rebecca Sheehan, Connor Sheehan, Kyle Sheehan, Brianna Sheehan, Kennedy Sheehan, Emily Sheehan, Meghan Sheehan, Trevor Sheehan, and 4 great grandchildren, Reid Foerder, John Sheehan, V, Ava Sheahan and Elsie Foerder.  Also survived by two brothers, Ken (Vera) Wiater and Mike (Martha) Wiater.  She was preceded in death by her son Kevin and an infant son Timothy. She is a graduate of Resurrection High School.  Jack and Karen spent 34 years in Park Ridge raising their children, retiring then to Hollywood, Florida. Her talents were many. She was a business woman, contractor and financial guru. Anyone who knew Karen knew that her heart as well as her home were always open, and she expressed this through her passion for cooking and entertaining. Karen especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen spent many years working in the rectory of Little Flower Catholic Church, Hollywood, FL, and above all else was truly devoted to her faith. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 10:30am – 11:45am at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge, with the Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm, St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, Park Ridge. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
