Susan 'Susie' Faraone Obituary

Susan “Susie” Marie Elizabeth Faraone 69, nee Tyk passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Richard D. Faraone, for over 45 years; loving mother of Richie, Jr. (Jamilla) Faraone and Tony (Brandi) Faraone. She was proudly known as “Grandma Sue” to her grandchildren Mia, Tony, Jr., and Richie who were her world.

Susie was born in Chicago, Illinois to Edmund and Helen Tyk nee Nakos. She grew up in Chicago and then moved to Cicero in fourth grade with her five siblings: The late Barbara Ferry nee Tyk; the late Maureen (Neal) Milott, the late Eddie (Sue) Tyk, and sister Sharon Tyk.

Sue was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, selflessness, and boundless strength. A devoted mother and wife, she cherished her husband and two boys, always putting their needs first. Her love knew no bounds, and she spoiled all her grandkids with affection and joy.

She was a true matriarch, juggling all her roles effortlessly. From cheering at her boys’ sports games to throwing baseballs during batting practice, she was their biggest fan. Her dedication extended to the family restaurant, where she worked tirelessly, dressed to impress, and held everything together. She was a mother to everyone, offering care and support to those around her. Soft-spoken yet tough, pound for pound, she faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience. Sue also had a remarkable ability to put up with her husband and sons. Her patience and understanding were unwavering, creating a home filled with warmth and acceptance.

Sue was a cherished member of her “Yaya’s” friend group, where she brought laughter and camaraderie to bingo nights and card games. Despite her siblings being far away, she remained close to them in heart, always finding ways to stay connected. She cherished the moments of fun and laughter shared with her sisters through the distance.

Sue leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and enduring memories. She will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
