Sirus A. Hadawi, M.D.

Sirus “Sy” Hadawi, 92, of Park Ridge, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his long-time home on Tuesday, January 26th. Sy had a distinguished career as a pediatric physician that spanned over 40 years in private practice and at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Children's Memorial Hospital, and Resurrection Hospital in Chicago. At Resurrection Hospital, he served for many years as Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. He also served on the faculty at Northwestern University School of Medicine and during his tenure, taught and mentored many medical students, interns, and residents. Being a pediatrician was his true calling. Sy was a generous and loving husband to his wife Laurel, as well as a dedicated father to their three children—Gina (Robert), David (Susan), and Mimi (Tom) and grandfather to Alexander (Felicia), Bjorn (Louise), Griffin, Jake, and Joe.  He was a devoted son, brother and cousin, and cherished uncle to many. Sy enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends at his beloved Lake House in Wisconsin. As per his wishes, Sy was cremated. A private visitation and service was held at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home in his honor, the service can be viewed at: https://www.memorialslive.com/hadawi.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
