Robert Schnetzer Obituary

Robert E. Schnetzer, age 93 of Park Ridge. Beloved husband of Barbara Schnetzer, nee Fitzgerald and his faithful furry friend, Charley. Devoted father to Teri Bartusek, Suzy (Jaye) Finn, and the late Robi and Lisa Schnetzer. Loving Pops to Chad (Pam), Brett (Lauren), Bradley, Andrew, Hailey Bartusek, Heather (Jordon) Thomsen, Robert (Kelly) Schnetzer, Meghan, and Reilly Finn. Great-grandfather to Jeffrey, Jack, Johnny, Harper and Brooke. Robert is the son of Oscar G. Schnetzer and Margaret Schnetzer, nee Stibinger and the brother of the late Oscar A. Schnetzer. Robert has several cousins throughout the European region, as his father was born in Austria-Hungary and his love of travel brought him many places throughout the U.S. and Europe to meet his paternal family.

Robert was in the National Guard and is a veteran of the U.S. Army (USA) during the Korean War.  You could say that Robert’s occupation is “entertainer”.  He entertained with music, and entertained ideas of business opportunities.  Robert discovered his love of music when he was in his teens and became an entertainer starting at 19.  He was with several bands over the years and even had the privilege of singing for Frank Sinatra at a private event.  He never stopped entertaining and he always sang wherever he went.  He loved to talk to everyone and was always interested in hearing about their lives.  His long-term friendships are a testimony to his kindness and giving to help others. He never stopped networking because he always saw great opportunities.  Robert’s sense of humor, remarkable voice, empathy, business sense, friendship, catholic faith, giving heart and most importantly the love he embraced his family and friends with, will be missed every day, but will forever be within the hearts of those who knew Robert E. Schnetzer.
