Peggy G. (nee Gregerson) Hardacre

Peggy G. Hardacre. Born January 15, 1922 in Buckingham, IL and departed peacefully from her loved ones on February 9, 2022 at the age of 100 years old. She was the oldest of 11 children. On August 9, 1942, she married Delbert Hardacre. Peggy and Del were married for 58 years until he passed away in 1999. She was a resident of Park Ridge, IL for 50 years before moving to the Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2006. Peggy was the proud Mother of two children: Greg (Delana) Hardacre and Louis Hardacre; two granddaughters, Erica Steffens Turlington and Jessica Hardacre. She was preceded in death by her Delbert E. Hardacre and her son Louis Hardacre. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Arthur, Robert, Gerald, and sister Jean. She is survived by her son Greg, granddaughters, Erica and Jessica, siblings, George, James, Joe, Carol, Marylou, Nancy and Brother- in-law and Sister-in-law, Blaine and Elinor Hardacre and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy’s joy in life was being a homemaker, caring for her family and volunteering in her community. She loved to travel and was an avid bridge player, in fact she spent many years in a bridge club with the mothers of Greg’s class of 1962 from East Maine Township High School. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband and members of the Married Merrys Dance Club. Peggy was a member of Park Ridge Community Church (involved in numerous women’s circles), 20th Century Club of Park Ridge, and was a lifelong member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), She volunteered for the local United Way for 21 years and was on the Board of Park Ridge United Way. She also spent 23 years as a volunteer at Lutheran General Hospital.

Peggy was a warm and kindhearted person who loved Park Ridge and time spent with her many family/friends and neighbors. She will be missed.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 11, 11 a.m. at the Town of Maine Cemetery, Touhy and Dee Road, Park Ridge. In lieu of any flowers, donations may be made to Park Ridge Community Church.
