Paula M. (nee Hassell) O'Connor

Paula M. O'Connor. Age 90, passed away in her in Park Ridge home on August 2, 2022 She is survived by her loving children, Frank and Kerry Ann, grandchildren, Alexander, Monica, Patrick, Allison, Anthony Comoatro, Nicole and her great-grandchildren, Lillian O'Connor, Eleanor Mauck and Judah Mauck.  Preceding her death was her husband, Frank, daughter, Erin O'Connor and her dear loving friend, Joseph Hester

Paula was a loving mother who always attempted to provide the best for her children and grandchildren. She never forgot a birthday or holiday. She was the glue that kept the family together every year she brought the family to Naples to spend Easter with her.

Paula had many interests, however, world travel was her passion; she had traveled to over 150 countries and as recently as 2017 had traveled to Iran. She made it her mission to bring supplies and donations to the countries she visited. Paula shared her love of travel taking the entire family trips to Europe and Africa, memories that will never leave. 

Paula felt very strong about supporting the Park Ridge Park District and was an active and loyal participant. She valued the Park District for all it offered those in the community and made a donation to contribute to the building of the Paula Hassell O'Connor Community Center.
Paula loved Park Ridge and spent 68 years living there. She was active in many organizations at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish. She was a member of the Park Ridge Country Club.  She spent winters in Naples, Florida and was active in The Strand Country Club playing golf, bridge or attending bible study.  In fact, at age 87 she got her first hole in one.

She stayed in contact with her friends going all the way back to grammar school. Florida. She will be missed by all.

Friends and family will meet for a Funeral Mass, Monday, August 8, 10 a.m. at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church, (Cumberland at Granville) Park Ridge. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice appreciated.
