Patricia Polich Obituary

Patricia Polich, 86, entered into eternal life on January 21, 2023. She was the fiercely devoted daughter of the late Frank and Mary nee Plesha. Steadfast sister of the late Lynne (the late Steve), the late Margaret (the late Rudolph) and the late Frank (the late June). Doting aunt of Paul (Sheryl), Luke (Cathy), Martha (Gary), Katie (Joe) and Frank (Laura) and the late Mark. Truly a great great-aunt of Arielle, Madeline, Jasmine, JT, Mary, Taylor, Madison, Lauren and the late Tessa.

Born on October 8, 1936, and raised in southwest suburban Lyons, she graduated from St. Hugh Grade School and Nazareth Academy for Girls. While her siblings married and raised families of their own, Pat remained single, watching over and taking care of her parents until they passed away.

Her one and only job was as an executive assistant and office manager for legendary criminal defense attorney George J. Cotsirilos. She began working at Cogan and Cotsirilos right out of high school, and retired as office manager of Cotsirilos, Tighe, Streicker, Poulos, & Campbell in 2018, seven years after Mr. Cotsirilos' death. She continued to work for the firm on a limited basis until only a few days before her passing.

They broke the mold when they made our beloved Aunt Pat. Tough and loving, devout and occasionally profane, she attended Cubs games as faithfully as she did Sunday mass and ended each day with a tumbler or two of Cutty. Unfailingly kind to the average person, she suffered fools just barely, tipped and donated generously, and was never afraid to speak her mind about life, the universe and everything. She traveled the world in her prime, loved the view from her lakeshore apartment, listened like clockwork to John Williams on WGN radio during her waning years. She cherished her visits and time on the phone with her adoring family. We're sure she had a thing or two to say to St. Peter as she strode confidently through those pearly gates. She was a force of nature who will be profoundly missed.
