Maurice Nelligan

Maurice Nelligan, 83, of Chicago from Toureenagreana, Ballagh, County Limerick, Ireland. Beloved husband of the late Bridie (nee Flaherty) Nelligan for 55 years. Loving father of Peter, Dan, Steve, Mike, Kevin (Cheryl), and John. Dear grandfather of Devin, Jack, Katie, Mikey, Sean and Josh. Loving Uncle and friend to many. Maurice came to America and built a beautiful life and successful landscaping business over the last five decades. Landscaping brought him so much happiness. It didn’t matter what day it was you could find him in his truck headed to plant flowers, shrubs, water or just out talking to his customers. He had a gift and passion for the details and loved to share his expertise and beautify our neighborhoods. Most of all, he will be remembered for his uncompromising love for his family and immense dedication to his employees and customers. Maurice had a strong faith in God and was a dedicated Pioneer of Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart (PTAA), an oath taken at confirmation. He will forever be in our hearts. Friends are asked to meet on Monday, January 24, at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge, for a 10 a.m. funeral mass. Interment will be private.
