Martin 'Marty' J. Alegnani age 60, of Arlington Heights. Beloved husband of Ann Alegnani, nee Heraty. Loving father of Eileen, Marty and Michael (Madelyn) Alegnani. Dear brother of Donna (late Pat) Harper and Debbie (Jim) DiCola. Brother in law of John (Jane) and Michael (Colleen) Heraty. Loving uncle of Kyle Harper, Jim (Korie) and Mary Grace Dicola, Michael and James Heraty. Preceded in death by his beloved parents Martin Earl and Mary Jane Alegnani.
Marty and his wife were residents of Schaumburg for over 30 years where they raised their family. Throughout their time in Schaumburg, Marty was actively involved in the Schaumburg Athletic Association, where he coached many young athletes in soccer for over 20 years. Marty loved to walk around the neighborhood smoking a cigar and engaging in conversation with everyone he met and continued that tradition in his new home of Arlington Heights. Marty was a lifelong Chicago sports fan and was always rooting for the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs.
2023 was a big year for Marty as he was looking forward to starting retirement with his beloved wife of 37 years. Marty was a proud employee of Nestle for 30 years where he worked on developing their coffee program. Marty was currently working at Source Tech, where he was surrounded with many close friends.
Marty was an avid golfer and a member at Westport Golf Club in County Mayo, Ireland, where he loved to visit anytime he could. When he was not traveling, you could always find Marty at Rob Roy Golf Course during the week and Silver Lakes Golf Course on Saturday mornings with his golf league.
Marty was well known for his big hugs, helping those around the community, a good laugh, and conversation. Marty loved to mentor young people, was a friend to many, and loved by all.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7th from 3-8:30 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 8th, 10 a.m., at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
