Marjorie H. “Mamaw” Anderson passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the age of 88.
She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (Cathleen) Anderson, Wesley (Nancy) Anderson and Patricia (Bill) Anderson Griffith and her sister Lela (Jim) Oliver. She was a devoted grandma to Stacey, Brian, Kendall, Jenna, Mollie and Bridget Anderson and great-grandmother to Kylie Anderson and Noelle and Penelope Barron. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Donald Anderson, her parents Golden Sr. and Ida (nee Miller) Ford and two brothers and a sister.
Marge was born on July 8, 1932 in LaFollette, TN. She attended Hall High School in Harlan, KY. On July 18, 1953, she married the love of her life, Joe Donald Anderson. She and Joe moved to Arlington Heights, IL in 1963. On June 7, 1965, they moved to Rolling Meadows into the home where they raised their 3 children. Marge was a 411 telephone operator for over 42 years starting at Southern Bell and then working for Illinois Bell, Ameritech and AT&T. She loved a good cup of coffee and sunny and bright days. Her hobbies included sewing, cross-stitch and reading but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. She lit up a room when she spoke of her grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.
