Magdalene Allegretti, nee Lizette died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Allegretti, loving mother of Michelle (Jeff Pasch), Nicole (Ray Mastrolonardo), grandmother to Tony, Mirae, Alaina (Greg Prawdzik), Alyssa, and Amber (Mike St. Clair), great grandmother to Jacob, Bridget, Marie, Abigail and Jeffrey, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Canada she moved to Chicago as a young adult to attend Columbia College as a Theatre major. Maggie loved everyone and everyone loved Maggie. She awoke every day with a smile. She could befriend even the grumpiest of souls. If someone came to her door in need, whether at work or at home, she did whatever she could. She would give you the last dollar in her pocket.
Maggie could talk politics, current affairs, and sports with anyone. She avidly read the newspaper and her beloved books. She loved her sports and will be watching her beloved Cubs, Sox, Hawks, and Bears from her new skybox.
Maggie was 103, part of the greatest generation ever and she just wasn’t ready to leave.
