Kathleen Palansky Obituary

Kathleen Blowers Palansky, Age 93 of Park Ridge. Passed on the morning of Thursday, March 28. She was the beloved wife of the late Stefan Palansky. She is pre-deceased by her father, Merald T. Blowers, mother Eloise L. Blowers, her brother Merald T. Blowers Jr., her sister in law Marjorie Blowers and her brother Warren L. Blowers. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Gail Blowers and her nieces and nephews Wendy Wright, David Blauers, Judith Sorochynskyj, Debra Cuozzo, William and Robert Beiermeister, and many loving friends.

Foremost, Kathleen loved Jesus. She was a longtime member of South Park Church and the coordinator of keenagers, she enjoyed very much working with children.

As a professional, she was a middle school teacher and librarian. As a Department of Army Civilian, she taught in Japan for 2 years and also Germany. Before she left for Germany she met her future husband Steve at a church singles group. They corresponded and one day he appeared in Germany with a ring for her! They married on April 6, 1963.

Kathleen and Steve loved to entertain at their home, along with their very pampered and beloved canines, MaSherie, Pozor and Zeke.  While looking through photos it was evident just how much they were cherished. There were so many dinners, luncheons, bible studies and holiday meals that they hosted for family and friends. Kathleen loved God, she loved life and she loved people.

While on a family vacation to Martha's Vineyard, nobody in her family, from teenagers to middle aged adults would parasail. Kathleen, 76 at the time was the only one who would do it, we commended her for her bravery. Not only did she spend time on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket with her family but she traveled the world extensively. She toured the Middle East, Israel, Ecuador, China, Japan, Czechoslovakia and many other countries in Europe. She had a wonderful trip to Alaska. She also traveled across the U.S. as a young woman, with her dear friend Doris. Kathleen also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and needle point.

Kathleen was a kind and generous person. She was a positive person even going through extreme hardship for the last three plus years. She never complained. She still loved to laugh, pray and enjoy her friends and family.

Thank you to all of her loving friends including Linda, Ralphe, Dorothy, Frank, Kirk, Carla, Lori and Shirley for standing by her side. I'm sorry if I missed anyone.

We will miss her, but she is at peace with her savior.
