Kathleen B. Jacobs

Kathleen B. Jacobs, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and teacher, passed away on April 5, 2024.

Born in Chicago to Frank and Cassie Baker, Kathleen lived a life filled with love, kindness, and grace. She was a beacon of strength and compassion to all who knew her.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and is survived by her children Robert Jacobs Jr. (Lora Viers), Jeanmarie Jacobs-Maramba (Ignacio Maramba), Kristin Jacobs, David Jacobs (Kathleen G. Jacobs), John Peter Jacobs (Solangel Jacobs); her grandchildren Rachel Maramba, Robert Jacobs III, Emily Jacobs, Gwendolyn Maramba, Lily Jacobs, Elisabeth Jacobs, Lucy Jacobs, Andrew Jacobs, and Clare Jacobs. She also leaves behind siblings Marilyn Schumi (late Andrew), Janie (Mike) Harris, Lois Ketterhagen, Mary Jacobs, and John Baker. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Kathleen touched the lives of her students throughout her career as a beloved teacher. She taught thousands of children to read over the course of her more than 40 year career. She approached her work with dedication, creativity, and integrity. Kathleen often stated that educating children academically, emotionally, and spiritually was her life calling.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12 from 4-8 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. Funeral Saturday, 10 a.m. from funeral home to Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. Celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church at 10:30 am. (may be viewed via live-stream at http://youtube.com/MarySeat) Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished forever. May she rest in eternal peace.
