Obituary

James Paul Henderson. Age 83, passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2023. Jim was born on April 14, 1940 to Frances and Paul Henderson in Zanesville, Ohio. He went from Wahama High School in West Virginia to studying Physics at Miami of Ohio. The pictures on the wall behind Jim in this photo are from the beautiful Miami campus which he loved so much. He also studied Chemical Engineering at Purdue and Business Administration at the University of Minnesota. He has worked for 3M Company, Northern Pacific Railroad, Burlington Northern Railroad, AT Kearney and North American Car.

Jim met his wife Iris in a summer program at 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota and became reacquainted with her in graduate school at Purdue University. Their 57 year marriage was highlighted by the adoption of Cynthia and Paul from Seoul, Korea, the marriage of Paul and Sirina in Thailand and nine years of joys being Matthew’s grandpa.

Jim was very active at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, enjoying many years of singing in the choir as well as chairing the committee that built the beautiful addition which made the church much more accessible.

Memorial Service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge on Saturday, July 15th at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. and fellowship in Henderson Hall following the service. We will be sharing some of Jim’s favorite snacks and beverages.
