Dolores Burke Fortune

Dolores Burke Fortune was born on March 27, 1925 in Chicago to John Burke of County Cork Ireland and Rose Burke(nee Schneider). She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 19.  She was a devoted wife of the late Robert Fortune for 63 years. 
Loving Mother of Jill (John) O’Malley, Christopher (Sara), Robert A. Jr. (Elizabeth), Peter (Patricia), Thomas Fortune and the late Joan (the late Guy) Melby.  Beloved Grandmother of Ryan (Cathy), Ashley (Jonathon), Kevin (Jessica), and Tyler (Kathleen) Melby, Tara and Colin (Emily) O’Malley, Heather(Matt) Fortune/Hamilton, Kelly (Mike) Boettcher, Emma (Conner) Cowling and Wiley Fortune, Rosemarie, Grace, Molly, Kathleen, Margaret, Michael, Amanda, and Matthew Fortune and the late Darcy Melby. Proud Great-Grandmother of Riley, Alex, Caitlyn and Kevin Melby, Braden, Christopher and Paul Fortune/Hamilton, Olive, Cardiff, Henry and Clayton Boettcher, Odette, Goldie and Rowan Cowling, and Maya O’Malley. Fond Sister of the late Rosemarie Burke, the late Emily MacLennan (late Mac), the late Mary Allen (late Jack) and the late Joan Dale (late Jim). Loving Aunt of Bill Libby (Marcia), Janice Libby, and Mary Rose, nee Libby (the late Donald) and the late Brian Allen (Cathy).  
She loved her family, enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, welcoming visitors to her home of 58 years and was especially fond of celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family.  As a Real Estate Agent in the 1980's, Dolores was a member of the Prestigious "Million Dollar Club" in Park Ridge.
Memorial Visitation, Monday June, 12, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge.  Mass to follow at Saint Paul of the Cross Church.12:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Dolores’ favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
