Charles Albert DelGrande

An everlasting friend. 

Charles Albert DelGrande, 64, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

He was born to Yvonne Brownell and Patrick DelGrande on December 30th, 1956, at St. Alban’s Medical Center in Queens, New York.

Charles, better known as Chuck, graduated Valedictorian of his class from The Berkshire School (Sheffield, MA) in 1975. He went on to receive his undergraduate degree from The University of Notre Dame in 1979. His first professional role was at the Chicago Tribune, where he learned so much and made so many wonderful friends whom he has kept in touch with throughout the years. During that time, he founded Tribfax - the earliest known version of our current daily e-newsletter - and in 1990, earned his MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School Of Management.

In 2012, Chuck joined the Investment Bank Alantra (formerly C.W. Downer) to establish a presence in the technology sector, which he consistently pursued with vigorous passion.

Chuck will certainly be missed by so many. It behooves us all to take life-lessons and inspiration from his stance on life, to always look at the glass as half-full, with strength, hope, love and optimism, and to never forget... The Fighting Irish.

Visitation Sunday August 22, 1-4 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. Funeral Monday 9:30 a.m. from funeral home to St. Paul of the Cross Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
