Roberta B. (nee Polidori) Larsen

Roberta “Bobbi” Larsen, age 76 of Park Ridge, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2019, with her family by her side.  She was born to the late Amalio Nicholas Polidori and Grace Elizabeth Henthorn on March 3, 1943 in Chicago.

Roberta attended St. William’s Catholic Elementary School in Elmwood Park, IL and graduated 8th grade in 1957 from St. Mary’s School in Fremont Center, IL.  Roberta also attended Libertyville Fremont High School and then Mundelein College-Chicago, graduating in 1965 with a B.A. in English.  After graduating she began her teaching career in Libertyville and Mundelein.  Roberta went on to teach for 10 years at Westbrook School in Mount Prospect and for 1 year at Sunset Park. 

On October 23, 1971, Roberta married Gerald Roy Larsen and continued their lives together in Park Ridge where they raised their two children, Julianne and Scott.  A consummate mother and homemaker Roberta enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and caring for her pets. 

Roberta was the beloved wife of the late Gerald R. Larsen, devoted mother of Julianne Hedlund and her husband Erik, and Scott Larsen and his wife Mary.  She embraced every moment as Grandma “Bobo” to her six grandchildren, Madeline, August, Cora, Noelle, Gavin and Emery.  She was the dedicated sister of the late, Roger A. Polidori.  Roberta is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Judith West and her husband Ed; and a number of other loving relatives and close friends. 

Please join family and friends in celebrating her life at Ryan- Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL on Saturday, November 2nd for Visitation from 2:00-5:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cradle Society of Evanston, IL (www.cradle.org).
