Gretchen Ida (nee Koch) Stoltenberg

Gretchen Ida Koch Stoltenberg. May 18th, 1927 – July 6, 2017
Gretchen Stoltenberg, age 90, passed away on July 6, 2017. She was a long-time resident of Park Ridge. As a daughter of Vernetta and Pastor Hans Koch, she grew up in Wisconsin in a family with 3 sisters - the late Mary Andersen, Jo Frittelli (Gianfranco), and Letty Rasmussen (George).  Gretchen graduated from the University of Wisconsin and received a master’s in social work from the University of Denver. She was a wonderful gardener, entertainer, and artist. Gretchen cherished the company and conversation of friends and family. She had a steadfast Christian faith that gave her a quiet confidence and eternal hope. Gretchen was married to the late Donald Stoltenberg and mother of 5 children: Lisa McGlynn (Terry), Karl Stoltenberg (Laurie), Katharine Olson (Rick), Paul Stoltenberg, and Gretchen Stromberg (Arny). Grandmother of Sarah, Sam, Kate, Emily, Amy, Peter, Hans, and Anders, with many beloved nieces, nephews and their children. Visitation will be at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, Park Ridge, IL on Monday, July 10th 1:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hammer House at: https://www.hammer.org/donate-thank-you/, are appreciated.
