Kenneth N. Isherwood

Kenneth N. Isherwood, 81, of Palatine, IL passed away surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.  Ken was born in 1936 to Norman and Marion Isherwood nee Glardon in New Rochelle, NY.  He leaves behind a brother Raymond (Soocha), and now joins his siblings, the late Robert (Barbara) and the late Kathleen Rinehart in eternal rest.  He was a devoted and doting husband for 54 years to the late Eileen C. Isherwood nee Elander. He was the most loving father of Jeanne (Leo) Formanski and Nancy (Wesley) Anderson, and was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Ann Isherwood. The role in life that gave him the greatest joy was that of devoted grandfather of Kendall, Jenna, Mollie and Bridget Anderson. He never failed to provide them with his wisdom, encouragement, and supportive presence at all of their activities. Ken was a man of honor, a true example of a gentleman, and a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a proud graduate of Iona College, New Rochelle, NY.  He was a modest, brilliant and creative entrepreneur, starting Market Access Corporation in 1986, later becoming Coverholder for Lloyd’s of London.  He had a passion for cooking, fishing, golf, traveling and playing cards.  He was a generous soul and loyal, steadfast friend. He was determined to make a difference to those lucky enough to cross his path.  He will be dearly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.  Memorial Visitation Saturday, October 28, 11:15 a.m. until time of mass, 12 noon, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 1201 E. Anderson Dr.(at Williams Dr.), Palatine. Interment will be private at St. Michael the Archangel in Palatine, Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to The Epilepsy Foundation of Chicago or Samuel Kirk Center in Palatine.
