Joan Irene (nee Sheridan) Bercher

Joan Irene Bercher, nee Sheridan. Age 85 of Marietta, GA, passed away at Tranquility Hospice-Kennesaw Mountain, Marietta, GA on December 2, 2017. She was born on August 10, 1932 in Chicago, IL. She attended St. Priscilla Elementary School and graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Chicago. After graduating, Joan married Elmer Endres, who passed away early in their marriage. In 1962, she married Walter John Bercher and later moved to Baton Rouge, LA in 1968. They were married for 45 years before he too preceded her in death. Joan was a wonderful, devoted, and loving wife, mother and homemaker; all the while working the majority of her adult life in various office administration roles in Chicago, Baton Rouge and Atlanta. Other than her faith, nothing was more important than family. She was very proud of her family and most especially her four sons. She enjoyed many friendships at the West Cobb Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing Mahjong and Pinochle. Joan was a marvelous cook and loved preparing exquisite dinners for her family. Her favorite tradition was hosting a Christmas Eve party each year for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta and frequently volunteered at Saint Vincent de Paul. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Surviving family members include: Greg (Amy) Endres-Bercher, John Endres, Dale (Becky) Bercher and Brad (Cecilia) Bercher. Grandchildren: Dane Endres-Bercher, Aurora (Igor) Beloposky, Anastasia Endres-Bercher, Colin (Emily) Endres-Bercher, Nathan Endres, Joshua Endres, Anna Endres, Matthew Endres, Regan Bercher, Alec Bercher, Nicholas Bercher, Luke Bercher, Clare Bercher and Joseph Bercher. One great-grandchild, Grayson Endres-Bercher. 

Visitation Friday, December 8, 3-9 p.m., at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy. (2 blks. S. of Touhy), Park Ridge. Funeral Saturday, 9 a.m. prayers from funeral home, to St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge, IL. Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
