Dorothy J. Ellis "Dotti" nee Carpenter. Beloved wife of the late Gene Ellis. Loving mother of Theresa (Brian) Tillinghast, Laura (Raymond) Shurson, Kathleen Negrete, Eugenia Victoria Ellis (Dave Kratzer) and the late Scott Zahren. Devoted grandmother of Kelli Ann and Geon Parker Tillinghast, Tamara Selimi, Julia C. (Kyle) Ganze, David G. Negrete and Vita Kratzer. Proud great-grandmother of Ellie Grace Ganze. Dear sister of Bea (Duane Barnes) Young, Alfred Barrett (Ann) Carpenter Jr., Barbara (Matthew) Rezmer, Jack (Lynne) Carpenter and the late Richard (Kim) Carpenter. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Widowed at a young age, Dotti was a pioneer as one of the first RE/Max franchises in Northern Illinois. Among her many accolades, she was named Realtor of The Year in 1991, Million Dollar Sales awards since 1973, and is in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. Dotti was the past President of the Northwest Association of Realtors, past Director Illinois and National Association of Realtors, past Director of the Park Ridge YMCA, and member of the Women’s Council of Realtors. Her community activities included the Daughters of the American Revolution, Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce and a member at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Choir. Memorial Visitation Thursday, August 3, 3-9 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy. (2 blks. S. of Touhy), Park Ridge. Family will receive friends in the church library, Friday 9 a.m. until time of Memorial Service, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 306 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge. Memorials to St. Mary's Episcopal Church are appreciated.
