In loving memory of Anthony Cristiano Jr.

Anthony ‘Tony’ Cristiano was born on May 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois and passed away at home on April 22, 2024, just 9 days shy of his 90th birthday. Tony loved his family immensely and leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Vittoria (Bruno) Cristiano, his daughter Raphaela (Kirk) and his son Michael (Angela). He was very proud of his 4 grandsons, Antonio, Nicholas, Alex and Jake who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his only brother Jerry (Karen), in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Growing up in the city, Tony went to St. Ignatius College Prep and then on to University of Illinois at Chicago to study pharmacy. He was drafted into the army before he could complete his studies. He served in the army through 1958 and his favorite time was when he was stationed in Germany. He often told the family stories of these travels.

Once he came home after honorably serving his country, Tony pursued a career in computer programming and analysis that lasted for more than 40 years. He often worked multiple side hustles having his real estate license and his own income tax preparation business. He had a strong work ethic and a very strong moral compass. He married his wife Vittoria in November 1962 and together they built a life that was filled with family, food, and travel. Tony was very passionate about traveling and enjoyed the sun and many unique restaurants in various countries. He was a religious man and attended church every Sunday.

Tony will be remembered and celebrated with a Funeral Mass on Friday, May 10, 10 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. Friends and family will gather at church at 9:30 a.m.
